Wow Time is Just Flying By!
This has been one of the hottest summers in the history or Vancouver, reaching temperatures of 35-40 degrees. Of course it’s the one summer I am extra preggo! To be honest it wasn’t that bad, considering my fitness studio doesn’t have air conditioning I think I did pretty well. I just sweat a lot more that usual, especially after teaching group class! The funniest is after I finished demonstrating just one to two reps of each of the 18 exercises of our metabolic class for our clients, I was out of breath and drenched in sweat! All I could do was laugh at myself and how much my body has changed over this process of building a human being.
Week 27 marks my entrance into the third trimester and why not enter that new chapter with a bang?
I had been planning a “field trip” to the Grouse Grind for all of our Core Conditioning clients to challenge themselves and prove to them that they are in better shape than they think! Since I was the one planning this excursion and since I’m me, I had to join them up the hike. With lot’s of people telling me I shouldn’t, it was dangerous, and all of that jazz. I went with my instinct, my knowledge of my OWN BODY, and the approval of my midwife and decided to take this little bean up the Grouse Grind.
Lil Bean Did Great!!!!
I was shocked at how good I felt the entire way, I kept a steady pace, drank lot’s of water, and went much slower than I normally would have. It was such a great experience to see the look of shock on all of my client’s faces when they got a better time than they had expected, and actually made it to the top without their legs burning out on them. I feel I can lead by example in my motto of “train for life and be ready for anything”. I told my clients, this is why we “NEVER SKIP LEG DAY!” and that just because I am pregnant, I can still continue to exercise and teach my little my growing little bean the importance of healthy living.
Feeling Great After the Grouse Grind, Then I Tried Running……..LOL
Even though Running was more tough than I remember, my workouts were still feeling pretty good!
Check out some of my workouts from week 27 to week 37:
27 Weeks Pregnant
28 Weeks Pregnant
29 Weeks Pregnant
30 Weeks Pregnant
31 Weeks Pregnant
32 Weeks Pregnant
35 Weeks Pregnant
36 Weeks Pregnant
I even tested that I still had my jumpshot…..Going this long without playing basketball has been tough, but I was happy to see I still had it.
Poor little guy will have to realize really early that he will NEVER BEAT HIS MOM AT BASKETBALL! LOL
“Michelle How Long Are You Going To Keep Working For?”
“How Are You Still Getting Up So Early In The Morning?”
“You Need to Slow Down”
Me: “But I feel good?? I am slowing down a lot from my usual schedule? And how do I get up so early….I just do it because I still love my job and helping my clients reach their goals!
Still Working, But 4am Comes A Lot Earlier These Days
Continuing to train my clients both in-person and online, keep my business running, and trying to rest as much as I can is definitely becoming a challenge. When the alarm goes of at 4:02am (yes I always do my alarm ending in a 2, no reason why I just do?? lol) it’s much harder to get up and get myself in gear these days. Seeing my clients smiling faces when I get down to the gym and kicking their butts wakes me right up because I truly love my job. Let me tell you, I wouldn’t be able to get up at those hours of the morning to work just any job!
NAPS ARE THE KEY LIFE!
I have always been someone who takes advantage of even just a 20-30 minute nap, but these midday naps have now turned into 1-2 hour naps. No shame in my game, my little bean needs the sleep to keep going strong and momma needs the rest to keep kicking butts!
Just as before, it’s all about healthy balance between healthy eating, splurging on yummy foods, exercise when you feel good, and rest when you feel tired.
Baby Shower Time!
I am so lucky to have such amazing people in my life! My baby shower was filled with friends and family ready to shower my little bean with love. I have for some reason been obsessed with Cookie Monster for quite some time now, so it was only appropriate that this was the theme of the shower. My best friends and Mom did a great job of the decorations and our little guy sure got spoiled!!! So grateful to have such amazing people in my life!
Most girls want to do a “pretty” maternity photoshoot with their hair blowing in the wind, in a beautiful wooded setting, smelling flowers, with a white flowy dress just lightly “caressing” their bump.
Well although these pictures are always amazing and beautiful………I’m not like most girls 🙂 LOL
So when I was contacted by Alannah of Alannah B. Photography to do a maternity fitness photoshoot I was all over that!
Muscles and Maternity Fitness Shoot – What a Great Way to Capture My Changing Body In My Element
Alannah was amazing to work with and she captured some great images of me and bean. We kept laughing because she kept telling me:
“I can’t believe you are 29 weeks pregnant, you are so small!!”
“This is a maternity shoot, stop flexing so hard and stick your belly out more!”
“How do you still have abs?”
LOL We had a good laugh!
Check out some of the great pictures she took:
I have loved every step of this journey so far, and I am truly shocked at how good my body has felt throughout my pregnancy. I truly believe that keeping myself in shape prior to even getting pregnant and continuing to exercise throughout my pregnancy has kept me feeling great!
Feeling this little guy’s kicks getting stronger makes me proud (he’s not skipping leg day in there!) and I have come to love the feeling. I really think I am going to miss this feeling a lot once he makes his grand entrance into the world; however, I’m sure having my future workout buddy in my arms will be even better!!
Let’s Keep the Transformations Coming
